Description Pink muslin dress trimmed with cream lace. Neckline is edged with 3.5 cm wide lace. Front and back of bodice has two 3.5 cm wide bands of lace with 2 cm wide lace ruffle on each side of band, running vertically from each shoulder seam to the waistband. There are nine 8.5 cm long vertical narrow tucks from neckline dow. Center section of bodice between lace bands is gathered at the waist. Dress has short sleeves with two 1.5 cm lace inserts, 1.5 cm apart, starting 1.5 cm from sleeve edge. Sleeve edges have 2 cm lace ruffles.
There is a 2 cm wide lace band at the waist, lined with cream coloured cotton. The skirt of the dress has one 1.5 cm row of shirring below waistband anda three 1.5 cm lace inserts 2.5 cm apart at the bottom with a 6 cm hem. The back of the bodice has three vertical tucks on each side of opening at neckline. Bodice is gathered at waistline between bads of lace.
Dress closes at back with two metal hooks and eyes on back neck edge, four metal hooks and eyes down back of bodice and two hiooks and eyes at waistband.
Muslin fabric has faint same-coloured embossed circular pattern repeated every 3 cm over entire fabric.

Provenance Dress was made by Mrs. J. H. Wilkinson for Grace Wilkinson to wear to her sisters' weddings in 1912. Sister Eliza to Mames Laurence, June 4, 1912 and sister Emily to Ray Sharp, September 11, 1912 in Trinity Methodist Church.
