Provenance |
William Swannell was born in 1887. He lived for some time in Nelson and worked as a bookkeeper for Nelson Hardwarre Co. He served in the First World War. He worked as an accountant for Woodward Stores Ltd. from 1943 to his retirement at age 65, and then continued to work privately for the Woodward family. A room in the Woodward Biomedical Library was named after him in his honour (the Swannell Room). He died in 1982. |
