An Finnish Team took part in the Pacific Cup in the Kootenays in August 1996. Teams participating in this event came from Canada, Finland, Japan, and the United States. Each team was asked to sign their names on the T-shirts so that CIC could create a lasting display this event. The Air Canada Pacific Cup International Hockey Tournament for players under 18 years was held in Nelson, August 13-18, 1996. The Canadian International College (CIC) became "Atheltes Village" for all participants. Players were housed and fed on campus. Canada won Gold, the U.S.A. won Silver, and Finland won Bronze. |
